NO RICH KIDS IN NAIROBI

NO RICH KIDS IN NAIROBI

Lately here in Kenya there has been a brain drain but not the usual "brain drain" we Africans know this is different a good chunk of Kenyan youth have been flying out of the country to seek residency elsewhere.

This has left me with so many questions and the urge to fly out myself. But I remain here in my country, most of my close friends and family are either in the United States of America or Europe.

While I remain here in Africa. Working for my future, there has been alot of emmigration going around. There are no jobs everywhere as we are struggling as a nation.

The economy in this country has become really misfortunate but we wake up everyday and work regardless.

Rich and financial stable families are sending their children abroad to live and work there. For a prosperous prospect as we the ones who remain here struggle with the current regime.

Sometimes I wish I was them but I also remember that comparison is the thief of Joy and that at the end of the day it is I who will determine if I will feel bad about it wishing I was in a foreign land.

Yes I must admit that I am abit envious but at the end of the day I realise that it is only me who can change my life. And if I put in the work I will be there like them.

Now I'm not saying I live in a bad country. Every country has its own challenges and problems but that doesn't mean I am stuck here. My dream ever since I was a kid was to travel around the world and each day I remind myself that if I put in the work things will get easier for me in the future.

Just because I was born here doesn't mean I am stuck here. I am a citizen of the world and exploration is crucial for my growth in life as a person.

I also prefer to travel for leisure but not for business but. If a business opportunity arises somewhere I am not leaving that chance. I must seek and take that opportunity by the horns.

To my Kenyans who are living abroad my heart goes out to you. I hear it isn't easy but persevere and be resilient there are always two sides to the coin. We don't live in a Utopia both here and abroad.

Every country has its own challenges it is up to you to be positive and put in the work without remuneration of your past life from your country.

And that is why there are no rich kids in Nairobi anymore.
