REQUIME OF THE MERMAID

CHAPTER I

Bob had lived most of his life on sea as a whale harpooner, he was tall and well built for a middle aged man, he had a wife and children but later died due to the plague.

For now the sea was his only solace, the clear blue water gave him peace of mind and a sense of belonging.

Bob was the captain of the La Maison ship for over 40 years coming near on his retirement. He hated the sea he had lost so much money during the great storm with most of his little boats getting destroyed.

He now had to abandon fishing and take on expeditions with obnoxious adventurers and expoditionists who knew nothing of the sea.

Racheal was a maiden scientist who had heard the stories of sirens and mermaids in the Black sea which was considered as no man's land in the sailor's world.

But her character was condescending but her beauty prevailed her.

" The sea is no place for a woman" said Bob.

"Mr. Bob I am simply a client and I demand respect for my journey's worth" said Florence adjusting the spectacles.

She was downed in a heavy jacket with her blonde hair appearing grey in the dim lit weather. Accompanying her was Gerald her assistant, who clearly had a crush on the lovely woman.
