90's KIDS NOSTALGIA

90's KIDS NOSTALGIA

"To those who are young want to become old and to those who are old want to become young again"  -Unknown

Being a 90's kid has some of its most memorable perks, for one the economy at that time was not as bad as today's current recession so most things were affordable and cheap. That is if you came from a stable family.

I remember my first birthday as a kid turning 8 I was so embraced by the culture of the typical African household, family members never wasted a moment of great celebration to me as a kid that meant alot as I look back and I do not take it for granted.

This was before my mother's passing, there was so much love and joy. My father would travel all across the world. He has literally been all across the globe yes he is blessed with that and I am grateful for that.

So many wish to travel all over the world and he was granted that opportunity from Paris to Cambodia he seen it all to Amsterdam to the United States he was well established Vagabond.

He would often come back with gifts from Dubai with chocolates and the latest PlayStations life was good incomparable to now with the rising job crisis and crippling economy.

My brother and I would stay up all night and play these games to no end back then there was no memory card so you had to keep the PlayStation on until the next morning. We had a blast and it was venerable!

Sorry to say today's children won't know that feeling of waking up to Saturday morning cartoons graced with Coco Pops cereal and staying out late riding bikes until the security lights came on, sad.

But I must say this generation of kids are much more mature, something us millenials who had already paved the way for them.

For me being a millenial cum Gen Z has been an absolute merriment. There was so much beauty in the struggle and ugliness in the success that is what it is now.
