WESTERN CIVILIZATION

I being an African have been watching movies from Hollywood and also listening to music too since the time I discovered the internet. This has been the norm for millions of young people.

Not even younger generations but also much of the older generations,we, both watched movies from the West and have ultimately idolised them.

Nothing wrong with a good old country series like Yellowstone or Landman. But I ask the question. Where is our very own Dutton family?

I have watched so many series albeit more than the average American. From the classics of Breaking bad and Game of Thrones to the shores of Landman and the city of the Mayor of Kingstown.

I must admit I do try to watch African content but I find that it has no authenticity. Characters are already at 100% development of their "character building" when the series hasn't even started.

Surely it can't be that difficult to write a good story about the culture of us Africans e.g explore the rain making culture or something in line with rites of passage, the possibilities are endless.

There is this South African series called UNSEEN I highly recommend you go watch it. If we could adopt this style of writing and high quality production we can go far.
