SIMULACRUM AND SIMULATION

Have you ever wondered if life is a construct? That we are just players in a video game simulation of some sort. I have and it always bothers me to ask the question that if life is truly a simulation why don't i have some form of control maybe we do, we just don't know it yet.

I always got goosebumps watching the Matrix (1999) movie with Keanu Reeves at a young age, we were bewildered by the cool action cut scenes of Morpheus and the team.

For some reason as I grew older I realized that the fights were a metaphor for the internal struggles we go through each day. To get out of the The Matrix. 

Someone once said that the Matrix isn't a movie its a documentary of the Human race. 

I will go through some notes(Baudrillard author of Simulation and Simulacra) with no particular order in reference to the movie, there is symbolic exchange where you have these institutions that promise values and the moon but do not deliver.

This is seen at the start of the movie with Neo working an endless 9-5 job. The symbolic exchange according to me is the fulfillment and satisfaction of life working this 9-5 job.

This form of illusion is called Hyperreality and the distinction between your reality and expectation is blurred and falsified. Especially now with the age of artificial intelligence you cannot tell what's real from fake.

So how do we know what is true and what is not?
