FREEWILL: FALACY OR TRUTH?
FREEWILL: FALLACY OR TRUTH?
These past few months have been challenging, I have been having this intense thoughts of how as human beings have the free will to make decisions, I for one have been having doubts about freewill if it is an illusion or if it actually exists. I did some research on it. I sort of have been going back and forth on the ideas. If it is really an illusion then you wouldn't have the free will to say that it doesn't exist you get me? But you may not have free will to say you have free will. It's a classic example of Grandfather Paradox.
When life is coming at a standstill or you know when things are not going your way, for me personally I think there is no freewill that there are broader ideas at work, it could be God, or your own personal opinion of an entity. The way I view it, is that if we had "freewill" wouldn't you want a different life let's say a perfect body or having a residence in a tropical island. To me "freewill" doesn't exist. "Does someone who is suffering from a mental illness choose to jump from the top floor and end his life?"-Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Although not having free will sounds morbid and melancholy but its a chance for you and me to push past the idea that everything and everyone is pre-determined, to rise from the shell and break free from the cocoon. I believe that there is freewill but I say this to my own benefit knowing I can determine my own future, achieve my goals and have a completely different lifestyle to me is more appealing than oneiric version of no freewill.
Without freewill you wouldn't have choice to decide you don't have free will. A famous saying that I always resonate with is if you ever worry about the things you can't change never give them the thought of day. If you want to worry, worry about the things you can change and take action. Never quit. Just because you don't believe in free will, doesn't mean you sit back and enjoy the ride. You have to strive to change yourself, strive to make better decisions and live with gratitude.
Otherwise, Life will continue to humble you and your excuse will always be "I have no free will!"
